About the museum

Truth. Memory. Legacy.

Mariah Sanctuary is an independent, fan-run virtual museum. Its purpose is to preserve and document Mariah Carey musical and cultural artifacts, to bring joy through educational exhibitions, and to build a lasting archive for future generations. Objects are held for preservation, not as resale inventory.

Preservation-first collecting

Objects enter the Sanctuary to be cared for, not traded. Nothing here is offered for sale, and originals are preserved as found; any restored display version is described as a derivative, never presented as the original.

Documented object histories

Each record grows slowly and honestly: era, format, condition, signature status, acquisition and provenance notes. Fields stay marked as pending until real details and photography are supplied.

Educational exhibitions

Era rooms and temporary exhibitions are written to bring joy and context โ€” the story of a record, a season, a tour โ€” rather than to value or certify what is displayed.

An evolving archive

Sample records are clearly marked, and documentation is added as it becomes available. Future projects are described as aspirations.

Planned, not yet open

A room we hope to build

Our long-term aspiration is a physical gallery where these objects can be experienced in person, alongside a deeper digital archive. For now, explore the collection and exhibitions online.
